A transparent-deck finale with a revelation made of light

Spirit Deck by Birdy Cai, Jay Wang and TCC Magic takes the classic solid-deck transformation a step further. The cards become a transparent block, then a mobile phone flashlight reveals a playing-card image through optical projection.

What your audience sees

Two participants select cards, which are returned and mixed into the deck. After you reveal the first selection during your card routine, attention turns to the second. The audience discovers that the deck has become a clear block. Shine a phone flashlight through it at the correct angle, and an image of the second selection is projected for everyone to see.

The revelation is formed by light interacting with the block's internal optical structure, rather than an image printed on its surface. You can frame it as the lingering memory of the deck, a scientific curiosity or a mysterious final transformation.

Size and finish

The Spirit Deck measures 88 × 63 × 15 mm, with a possible thickness variation of ±1 mm.

The manufacturing process can leave edges less than perfectly polished. Small blemishes and variations between blocks are normal and do not affect optical projection or performance.

A small piece of sandpaper is included. The tutorial explains how to lightly sand the edges for a matte finish resembling the sides of a deck of cards. If you prefer the transparent-block appearance, leave the finish as supplied; sanding is optional.
