Beyond Reform: A Signed Torn and Restored Card with a Twist

Turn a torn playing card into an impossible keepsake. Beyond Reform by Matthew Wright and Elliot Gerard is a visual torn-and-restored card trick in which four signed quarters reunite in a mismade arrangement, with two face sections and two back sections visible on the same side.

What Your Spectators Experience

You openly tear a court card into four quarters, with no palming and nothing hidden in your hand. A spectator shuffles and rotates the pieces, mixing their orientation. Two quarters are signed on the face and two on the back, allowing four different people to contribute to the effect.

The restoration brings those pieces together in an unexpected way: all four signatures appear on one side of the restored card, alongside its mixed face-up and face-down sections. Rather than simply returning the card to its original state, you create an unusual souvenir that gives spectators something tangible to remember.
